Paralytic Shellfish Toxins (PST) are a growing concern in seafood safety due to increasing harmful algal blooms. As laboratories move away from traditional Mouse Bioassay (MBA), AOAC Official Method 2011.02 offers a reliable instrumental alternative.
Based on post-column oxidation (PCOX) with HPLC-FLD, this method enables sensitive and reproducible analysis of PSTs, including the saxitoxin group and GTX 1–6. It provides a cost-effective and practical solution for routine regulatory monitoring. |
